President Duterte was quoted in saying that there’ll be no class and no work in school and offices of the Philippine Government. The date mentioned is this coming Thursday – September 21, 2017. He refers to this day as the “National Day of Protest”. Is freedom of expression in the works? That’s another matter to expand on and it’s beyond the scope of this article. But before you get carried away, it’s important to realize that Malacañang has not released a written confirmation yet.
The written order will state the scope of the class and work suspension. It will also highlight the area that is covered. And will indicate where protests can be allowed. President Duterte’s announcement did highlight that the date is not an holiday(unpaid)? A bit confusing really.
