Matt Linnen is a very likeable guy. He appeared confident but not cocky.
In his first audition, he sang Trouble and he got 4 yeses from it.
He’s a plasterer by day and a musician at nightoh, and he plays the guitar as well. Very skilled lad indeed.
You can watch his first audition here:
Matt on Bootcamp Audition
Matt Linnen is obviously good. He’s definitely safe on Bootcamp. It was expected that he’ll make it to the second stage of the Bootcamp round.
In the second stage of this round, he decided to sing “If I were a boy” by Beyoncé.
That was a little confusing. Why didn’t he change the lyrics of the song ? Why not change the word “boy” to girl?
It”s only one word but it kind of changed the whole context of the song.
Was he trying to say something? Highly unlikely!
There’s anything wrong with it, if he is. It’s the 21st century. But definitely not.
Did he just completely overlook it? Or was it a conscious attempt to get the attention of other men who might fancy him? Giving them hope, maybe? That equates to votes you know.
Wath his performance below:
Overall, his performance was really good. No gimmick. No drama of any sort. Just him and his guitar.
He used his guitar during his first audition. And he used it again on bootcamp.
If he gets through to the live show, will it be part of his performnces most of the time?
We all know what happened to singers who play guitars on American Idol. They het through to the finals and win the show.
We have had two guitarist who won the X Factor Finals in the UK. Remember Matt and James?
Does that mean we have the X Factor winner in him? What do you think?
